In questo periodo se ne è fatto un gran parlare: Pokemon go! Il nuovo gioco per smartphone e tablet che gira su ios ed android che ha fatto impazzire il mondo ed è sulla bocca di tutti, di chi lo ama e di chi lo odia.
Di cosa si tratta nel dettaglio? E’ il nuovo gioco di realtà aumentata geolocalizzata con GPS, sviluppato da Niantic, creato con la collaborazione di Game Freak, The Pokémon Company e Nintendo. Ma cosa significa? Avrete molto probabilmente già incontrato per strada degli strani tipi che girano per le strade con lo smartphone in mano alla ricerca di qualcosa: ovvio i Pokemon! Cosa sono i Pokemon? Avete presente quel cartone animato degli anni 90 in cui dei ragazzini andavano alla ricerca di questi mostriciattoli per allenarli e farli combattere tra di loro? Ma i Pokemon non esistono!!! Ed invece sì, o almeno Pokemon go gli ha dato vita. E camminando per il mondo con il telefono in mano compariranno sullo schermo e si potranno catturare. L’innovazione rispetto agli altri giochi è proprio questa: nerd di tutto il mondo dovrete uscire di casa e camminare, perché i Pokemon sono sparsi per tutto il globo.
Probabilmente nemmeno i produttori di questo gioco avrebbero mai immaginato un tale clamore. Pokemon go ha superato tutti i record di download ed ha invaso il mondo dei social network, non senza polemiche. Perché se da un lato ci sono gli amanti appassionati di questo nuovo gioco che hanno già sfoderato le scarpe da jogging dall’altra ci sono i “ma questi sono pazzi”.
Io stessa, alla notizia di questa app sono un po’ impallidita. Non tanto per la “follia” di vedere strane creature dove non ci sono e incollare ancora di più i giovani d’oggi agli smartphone anche fuori casa, ma per la pericolosità del gioco. Purtroppo non si sono fatte attendere notizie di incidenti dovuti alle disattenzioni a cui il gioco porta. Quindi il mio consiglio è: giocateci si ma con prudenza e cervello!
Ma quello di cui voglio parlarvi oggi sono le opportunità per le aziende. Ebbene sì, un Pokemon raro ha visto schiere di giovani invadere bar, piazze, musei, addirittura stazioni di polizia. Secondo alcune statistiche in USA le persone stanno scegliendo locali e pizzerie dove recarsi in base alla presenza o meno di Pokemon indicate sul web dai giocatori che ci sono già stati, e non mancano le recensioni negative nelle attività dove non sono presenti Pokemon.
E qui viene l’opportunità da cogliere: una pizzeria di New York è riuscita ad incrementare il fatturato del 75% attirando i giocatori di Pokemon GO. Pizza Bar a Long Island ha infatti pagato 10 dollari per poter avere il gioco nel proprio locale.
Ma come si fa? Per attirare i Pokémon nella propria attività commerciale bisogna acquistare per 10 dollari quello che viene chiamato un Lure Model – letteralmente “Modello di Richiamo” – usando dei Pokecoins per ottenere dei PokeStops.
Il procedimento – più complicato a dirsi che a farsi – fa sì che per 30 minuti ci sia una vera e propria invasione di Pokémon nel luogo prescelto.
Pizza Bar non è stata l’unica: Tanghui – ristorante cinese di Sidney – ha informato tramite i social che il giorno seguente avrebbe attirato i Pokemon nel locale ottenendo un gran successo.
Il prossimo passo pare sarà un’ulteriore implementazione del modulo per trasformare la propria attività in una palestra, così da attirare maggiormente i giocatori anche per allenarsi.
Questo potrebbe fare di locali e bar punti di incontro “regolari” dove la gente può sostare a lungo, sfidarsi e quindi anche consumare (c’è chi ha pensato già alle consumazioni obbligatorie ovviamente).
